Mission project for Nov/Dec

Dear Adventurer parents

We need your participation! One of our mission projects this year is making “goody” bags for the 60 families that the Azure Hills food bank provides for. The club is planning on purchasing 60 drawstring backpacks to fill with goodies. The bags should be filled with nothing in particular other than something one might enjoy getting. For example: chocolates, fruit roll ups, small toys, cookies, toothpaste, toothbrush, chap stick, etc. Please be creative when bringing items. Each Adventurer class will pack 10 bags with the items you bring.

If possible bring what you can this next meeting to your class. We will be collecting items the next two meetings to collect and organize the bags. In December we will give the bags to the food bank to distribute. More information will be in our newsletter.

Thank you.

On our first calender we had a singing band scheduled for this Sabbath. This was cancelled. Thanks.

Silverwood Lake campout information

Directions to Silverwood Lake are: I-215 north (merging onto the I-15). Exit onto Highway 138 and head east (right hand turn). Travel east for 11 miles until you reach the Silverwood Lake exit. When exiting turn right (lake/main entrance is to the left) and head towards the group camp sites. It will be on the left hand side. You cannot see the campsite from the road but we will put up signs indicating where to enter.

Once at campsite, you may pick place to set up tent. It is a first come first serve basis regarding your tent location. RV’s will park in parking lot. Please don’t forget to check in and get a parking pass.

We will have sign up sheets for each meal. Please remember that we ask that each family sign up for one meal throughout the weekend. Fridays meal is on your own, but then all three meals on Sabbath and Sunday breakfast will be provided.

Some other things to remember:
1. We serve lacto-ovo vegetarian meals: please make sure to bring along anything you might need for any special dietary needs of your family members.
2. Bring helmets if you plan on riding bikes or scooters.
3. If you bring your own water bottle you will be able to refill with the bottled water we provide, thus lessening the waste of used cups.
4. Bring your lawn chairs to sit on.
5. Restroom facilities have showers but you will need some quarters. (Make sure you get in there prior to Pastor Carmen because she takes real LONG and HOT showers!)
