Adventurer Club activity for October 2014 - Helping Hands Pantry
Greetings and salutations Adventurers!
This is a reminder that our club will be doing community service this Sabbath from 3 - 4:30 pm at the Helping Hands Pantry (Food Bank). This organization helps to feed over 7000 children in the San Bernardino area who might other wise go to bed hungry each night. This activity was so much fun and yet at the same time really helps us serve others in our community.
The address is 2205 South Artesia Street, San Bernardino, 92408. From the church you would take Barton Road east to Waterman Avenue. Turn left on Waterman and go to Artesia where you make a right. Follow Artesia until it ends. There is a chain link fence with a rolling gate, Helping Hands is inside the fenced area. Be sure to wear your blue Adventurer Club t-shirt.
We want to see you all there to so that you can be God's helping hands here on earth!
Blessings

By being thoughtful and being reverent when sitting and waiting your turn. Counselors please remember that you will need to sit with your class throughout the program. Make sure you have a bulletin so that you will be prepared when it is your classes time to be up front. Mostly though be happy and smile. Remember we are doing this for our Father in Heaven who loves us so much.
We will have snacks available in the breeze way between the sanctuary and fellowship hall directly after first service. We invite all the Adventurers then to go to the Sabbath school classrooms upon receiving your snack.
Lastly, please plan on staying for the Adventurers Vegetarian Potluck in the fellowship hall. We will start setting up after Sabbath school ends. Investiture 2014
Hey Adventurers
Just one more reminder about Investiture tomorrow evening at starting 5:30 for dinner followed at 6:30 for the program. Don't forget to wear your dress uniform. If you don't have one we still welcome you to come and be a part of this special celebration.
We are very excited that once again, our program will be Live Streamed. As many of you know, we have had relatives of Adventurers as far away as Brazil watch our program on-line. All one need do is go the the church website
( http://azurehills.weebly.com/ ) and click on the LIVE VIDEO STREAMING banner. We want to thank Pastor Jared for his help in this regard.
If you signed to help with serving dinner please try to be there a little early. If you are able to help with clean up and then set up of the fellowship hall for the Sabbath morning activities, that would be most appreciated.
We look forward to welcoming the Sabbath with His Adventurer club.

Investiture Program 2014
Hey Adventurers
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Just want to let everyone know about the up coming Investiture Program. Investiture is a very special evening. It is when each Adventurer is individually recognized for completing their class (Little Lamb, Helping Hand etc.) for the year, not unlike graduation. The Azure Hills Adventurer Club Investiture is this upcoming Friday evening starting with dinner at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. We will then move to the main sanctuary for the Investiture program at 6:30 pm.
Adventurers should wear their Class A dress uniform. After all the classes have been recognized we will take a full group photo on the platform. Once the program has been completed we would appreciate any and all help cleaning and setting up the fellowship hall for Young Adult Sabbath School the following morning.
Have a blessed week and may the Spirit of Jehovah be with you all.
Sincerely
Directors Geoffrey and Vivian

BTW - You may wish to have your Adventurer wear there blue t-shirt for dinner and then change into their dress shirt prior to the program. It works for us! ; )

El Capitan State Beach Camp Site Assingments, 2014
El Capitan State Beach... here come the Adventurers!
This Friday, the Azure Hills Adventurer Club will be camping, worshiping, playing, learning, laughing , 'smoring and snoring at El Capitan State Beach. Just a couple of IMPORTANT things before we go.
1. Sabbath afternoon most families like to go down to the beach. The beach there can get quite a bit of tar on it. This tar sticks to everything including feet, ankles, shoes, swim suits, etc. You should plan on using older swim clothes or shorts and t-shirts for beach wear. Baby oil is very effective at removing tar that is stuck to skin. Please plan accordingly.
2. We will use the group site "Drake" as our main site for meals, honor and worship. If you are in another group site or individual site, you will need to check in at our table in the main area so that we know your family is in camp. There will be sign up sheets for help with meal preparation. We ask that each family sign up for at least one meal during your stay. You are welcome to help with more if you like. The first meal will be Sabbath breakfast.
3. CAMP SITES - Please note the following attached list of camp site assignments. You will need to find your name, your site, and the reservation name. You will be required to give this information to the rangers at the entrance booth, when you arrive at the park. For example: Director Geoffrey will tell the rangers " Reservation is under McComb, Site 132". If you are assigned to group site Drake, reservation name is Azure Hills. Please check the list carefully.

Fun-draiser at Loma Linda Academy field!!! March, 2014
Hey Adventurers,
We have settled on a location for this years Run/Walk Fun-d-raiser! Loma Linda Academy field this Sunday at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm is the place to be. We will have 3 separate running courses for our youngest to oldest Adventurers to run their 10 laps. We will also have a jump rope station to see who can jump rope the longest, shot-put to see who can throw the longest, and long-jump to see who can jump the... farthest. All those who bring their sponsor sign-up sheets and participate in all events will receive the Physical Fitness Honor. We would ask that you bring your sponsorship funds that day as well. Our fund raising efforts support the club in the all activities that we do through out the year. We had 27 children that came out last year in support of our club. We have over 130 members this year and I think that we can do even better than last year.
God bless you all and I look forward to seeing all the Adventurers on Sunday!

Come out, get some excersise and Fun-draise for YOUR Adventurer Club! March 2014
Hello from Melbourne... Florida that is.
Even though I am here training for the week, I am thinking of our Adventurer club. I am thinking about how great it would be if we could get as many Adventurers as possible to come out for the Run/Walk fundraiser this Sunday. After all, what could be more fun than running, jumping and throwing stuff? Well, there is earning the Physical Fitness honor. That's pretty great. Just bring your sponsor sheet at check in and let the fun begin.
Our site for this event has yet to be determined so please keep checking the blog or the Yahoo group. We will let you all know where as soon as we get complete confirmation.
God's blessings to you all for the rest of the week.

Happy Sabbath Adventurers!
Just a reminder that we will be hiking around Lake Gregory today at 2:30 pm.
To get there from Azure Hills you will need to take I-215 N to I-210 E (Mountain Resorts). Take the Waterman Avenue/ CA HWY 18 exit and turn left towards the mountains. Follow HWY 18 to CA HWY 138 via the off ramp. Go past stop sign at Crest Forrest Drive where 138 becomes Lake Drive. Follow Lake Drive to the stop sign at Lake Gregory Drive and turn right (Goodwin's Market will be on you right side). It seems that winter is finally here cause it's COLD outside! But it will be warm in the fellowship hall tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm for our monthly Adventurer meeting.
We will be taking payment for Big Bear Snow Tubing on Sunday February 9. The cost is $10 for Adventurer and $20 for each Adventurer family member.
The club will subsidize the balance of the entry fee. Our official start time is 1 pm till 4 pm.
We will also be taking reservations for El Capitan Beach camp out April 11 - 13. RV space is limited but we should have ample tenting space. Come early to assure yourselves a spot either way.
We will see you all tomorrow. The the Spirit of the Lord God be with us all.
