More about Induction this Sabbath September 20, 2014

Happy Sabbath Eve Adventurers,

I wanted to let you all know a couple of extra things regarding Induction tomorrow. Adventurers should make their way to the stage following the children's story (if they are not already there).  Director Geoffrey will say a few words about the Adventurer club.  Then we will be reciting the Adventurer Pledge and Law while we are up front.  We will also recite Psalms 25:4&5 NIV. Director Geoffrey will prompt you when to begin each one. The words to each should be on the screen at the back of the church if you need to read them.

The Adventurer Pledge:

Director will say, "Ready...begin".

Adventurers will say, "Because Jesus loves me, I will always do my best.".

The Adventurer Law:

Director will say "Ready...begin"

Adventurers will say, "Jesus can help me to:
  • Be obedient
  • Be pure
  • Be true
  • Be kind
  • Be respectful
  • Be attentive
  • Be helpful
  • Be cheerful
  • Be thoughtful
  • Be reverent
Then we will recite Psalms 25:4&5.

Verse 4. Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Verse 5. Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior...

Then the Pastor will offer a prayer to bless our Adventurer Club and our up coming year.  The Induction service is a special time for each club member and we encourage all Adventurers to participate.

See you all Sabbath for first service.

Adventurer Induction 2014 and SECC Annual Adventurer Beach Day 2014

Hey there all you awesome Adventurers!

Just a note about the up coming Adventurer events for the month of September.  First is the Induction ceremony, this Sabbath September 20 during the first service.  Adventurers should come dressed in their Class A uniform which is the light blue blouse and navy blue jumper for girls and light blue uniform shirt and navy blue pants for the boys.  The burgundy scarf and Adventurer slide should be worn as well.  Adventurers can sit with their families during the service.  They should come to the front during the lambs offering.  The Induction service will follow the children's story.  Adventurers will be on the platform until the Pastor has prayed for our club and our year.  Family pictures will be taken in the fellowship hall from 11:30 - 12:30.  These will be used in our Adventurer club phone directory.

The Southeastern California Conference (SECC) of Seventh-day Adventists annual Adventurers Beach Day is Sunday, September 28 at Bolsa Chica State Beach.  This is a change from the schedule that was made by the conference office. Activities are oriented for parent and child participation as well as free time to fly kites and swim.  Please be aware that there is a $15.00 state park fee.  The schedule is as follows:

10:00 am          Registration and free time
            11:00 am          Opening Prayer
11:15 am          Tug of war (by Adventurer Class, and counselors)
            11:45 am          Bucket relay
            12:15 am          Lunch
1:30 pm            Build sand castle/free time

Adventurers will need to provide their own shade, food, clothing, drinking water, suntan lotion, towels, shovels, sand toys and kites.  Bring enough of everything you would need to spend 5 hours at the beach.  Be prepared to have a good time.  The past few years the weather has been perfect, even when there was marine layer in the Inland Empire, the beach was great.
Bolsa Chica State Beach extends three miles from Seal Beach to the Huntington Beach City Pier. We will be located between the Life Guard towers #21 and #22.  Look for our yellow Azure Hills Adventurers sign. Directions – From the 405 fwy or 22 fwy, take the Bolsa Chica exit south to Warner Avenue. 3, 2, 1...  Ignition!  The Adventurer year 2014-15 has lifted off!

It is once again time to put the Azure Hills Adventurer Club into orbit.  Our first club meeting for the year 2014-15 is tomorrow, September 3.  We will start at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall.  Remember you can still register tomorrow night.  You will need to fill out the application and  SECC medical release form and pay any dues/fees.  Also keep in mind that we will have our table open from 6 pm till approximately 6:50 pm Wednesday evening.

We will have a gently used Adventurer uniform/t-shirt table available tomorrow evening as well.  Please bring your gently used Adventurer clothing for donation or sale.  This table will also close by 7 pm.

We are really looking forward to a Spirit filled year with the Adventurer club. Our prayer is that the Lord God will lead and be glorified in all the things Adventurers participate in this year.

We will see you all tomorrow.  Remember to wear your blue Adventurer t-shirts.
