Hope all of you who were at PSR this weekend had a great time and made it home safely.  It was a lot of fun for the Leadership team to have such a special time with all of you.

And just like that...December is here.  The Adventurer monthly club meeting will be this Wednesday, December 5 at 6:30 pm.  Those of you who participated in the Run/Walk fundraiser, please remember to collect your sponsorship monies and turn them in this Wednesday.

Hey Adventurers

We are writing to you from beautiful Pine Springs Ranch.  Just a few words regarding those of you coming for just Sabbath day activities...

We will be starting our Sabbath praise and worship service at 10:00 am in the Ponderosa room. If folks can be here by 9:30 am and check in with the lodge front desk.  The honor will start at 11:00 am.  Lunch is served from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

PSR retreat weekend is HERE!

Hey Adventurers

The Pine Springs Ranch retreat is here.  Here are just a few things to you all need to know...

1.  Check in for the weekend begins at 3:30 pm (15:30 hrs.) Friday, November  30.  The directors will have a table in the lobby of the main lodge.  Please check in with us first.  We will be handing out a schedule for the weekend as well.

2.  Friday night dinner starts at 6:30 pm.

3.  Be prepared for cool and even cold weather.  Please bring warm clothing.  With the rain we have had it will most likely be wet or damp. Packing extra clothes would be advised.

4.  Please remember to bring your Adventurer blue t-shirts for Sabbath.

5.  If you are not staying Saturday night, you must check out with the front desk after 11:00 am Sabbath.  Be sure to bring your keys to the front desk when you check out.

6.  No pets.

to the Adventurers and their families who came out to the Run/Walk fundraiser.  The Lord blessed us with an absolutely incredible afternoon. Everyone, children and staff alike enjoyed a great day of exercise and fun!  We even had a blimp overhead.  How cool is that?

Calling All Former Summer Camp Staff! (and everyone else too!)

Saturday Night at the Ranch is being revived for our Adventurer Camp-out at Pine Springs Ranch! We are looking for fun, silly, and crazy skits for the Saturday night program. If you have a skit (or would like to be a part of one) please contact Assistant Director Darren at dmbelleau@yahoo.com.

Do you play an instrument? We are also looking for praise band players. If you play an instrument (percussion, guitar, bass, etc.) and would like to join the music we want you! E-mail Assistant Director Darren about joining the band as well!

To submit a skit for consideration, please submit your skit name, basic synopsis/script, and how many people it involves as soon as possible!

Priority will be given in the order the skits are received. If your skit is selected you will be contacted to finalize the details of what you need and how we can help you make it happen.

If you don't have an idea and just want to be a part of one of the skits please e-mail as well and let us know. We will do our best to get you teamed up with one of the skits!

A word (or two) about Whitewater

Hi All

First of all let us say how terrible I feel that a number of Adventurer families (and one pastor) were unable to get into the Whitewater preserve this Sabbath afternoon.  There were several factors that led to this happening. First was the fact that besides the folks already there to hike, there were three large groups there at once, one of which was ours.  Second, there is normally parking along the road and down at the wash area that the Fire Department closed due to concerns of flash flooding during the recent rains.  Again, we regret that all of you were not accommodated. 

Thanks to all of you who did come out!  What a blessing to spend Sabbath afternoon with such wonderful people.  

Praise to the Lord for keeping us safe and for the beautiful day.

Sunbeam Parents,
We have really enjoyed the first two meetings we have had had with your children. 


We have challenged your child to earn an extra award the year: the Camper Award. Most of the children will work on this award during the PSR campout. However, if you CANNOT come to that campout, your child may work on some parts of the award tomorrow at the Whitewater Preserve. We will be there at 1:30 to accommodate this.

Hey Adventurers!!!  Are you ready for a nature hike?

Our October Adventurer activity is this Sabbath at the Whitewater Preserve starting at 2:00 pm.

The address is 9160 Whitewater Canyon Road, Whitewater, California 92282.  To get there go east on Interstate 10 to exit 114 toward Whitewater (just past the Palmsprings Hwy. 111 exit).

Once you exit the freeway you will turn left on to Tipton Road and cross over the I-10 freeway.

You will then turn left on to Whitewater Road.  The preserve is approximately 4 miles up Whitewater road.  There is minimal parking at the preserve itself, but there are several wide areas to park along Whitewater road just down from the preserve buildings and picnic area.

We will head out from the picnic area at 2:30 pm.  The walk it self is about a half mile one way, along a fairly maintained trail, to the banks of the Whitewater river.  Unfortunately, it is not recommended for standard strollers.  However the preserve does have several fish ponds with paved/cement trails around them for those of you who have strollers and would still like to participate.  We will give time for families to explore the area before heading back to the picnic area for worship and snacks.  

Please remember to bring water, sunscreen and any other personal items you may need for a 

nature hike. Long pants are recommended as well as a change of clothes should someone wind up in the river itself.  This time of year the river will most likely resemble a stream.  The weather forecast is sunny and 78 degrees.  Please remember also to throw all trash into proper receptacles.  Adventurers always want to leave an area cleaner than it was before we were there.  

We should be finished by 4:30 pm.  The park closes at 5:00 pm.

Adventurer Induction Sabbath and SECC Beach Day this Sabbath

Hello Adventurers

I hope everyone is doing great and are ready for a full weekend of Adventurer activities.

First: Adventurer Induction Sabbath is this Sabbath, September 22.  We will be participating in

the second service only.  We would like you to wear your class A or dress uniforms for this event.

You may sit with your parents until the Lambs offering is called for.  Once the children's story is completed we would like all the Adventurers to remain on the platform.  Director Geoffrey will say a few words.  Then all children will say the Adventurer pledge and law.  The words will be on the screens in the church.  The Pastor will then offer a special prayer for our club.  Following the prayer the Adventurers will sing "God, You're So Good To Me".  The lyrics will be on the screens as well. Following the worship service, there will be an Adventurer's Potluck Luncheon in the large fellowship hall.  Parents please remember to bring plenty of tasty vegetarian dishes for our hungry club members.  Drinks will be provided.  We will also need help with set up of tables and chairs, serving of the food as well as clean up following the lunch.  It will be a great day to praise the Lord.

Second: Adventurer Beach Day

The Southeastern California Conference of Seventh Day Adventists annual Adventurer beach day is Sunday, September 23.  It is at Bolsa Chica State Beach and starts at 11:00am.  You may also follow this SECC beach day link for more information.  A map to this event was provided in the newsletter distributed on our Wednesday meeting.  There is nothing like seeing a "sea of light blue" Adventurer t-shirts on the beach.  I hope you all can be there!

Adventurers 1st Meeting for 2012-13

Hey There Adventurers

Our first meeting is this Wednesday, September 5, in the Azure Hills large fellowship hall.  Be there on time as will plan to start right at 6:30pm.

The counselor/classroom assignments are as follows.
Little Lambs: Jo-Ann Vargas - Tiny Tots II classroom.
Eager Beavers: Jocelyn Keogh and Gretchen Yowel - Kindergarten classroom. 
Busy Bees: Keri Gatling and Heather Lauer - Pre-K classroom.
Eager Beavers: Leanne Drieberg - Fellowship Hall back room.
Builders: Kate Condon and Nikki Miller - Primary 1 classroom.
Helping Hands: Leo Adorador and Cathy Herrick - Primary 2 classroom.

If you have not yet registered, I highly recommend you do so before the 
meeting.  You may do so online by following this link to the Azure Hills Sports Ministries site. Click on the green + for first time registration.  If you 
have previously registered your child in another AHAC activity using this site and know your log in, than use that and follow the prompts.  We will be collecting the club dues and unpaid patches fees at the back of the fellowship hall, following the dismissal of the classes.

Uniforms can still be ordered from adventsource.org. Every club member should have a light blue Adventurers t-shirt for club meetings and events.  The class A uniform should be worn to Induction Sabbath, Investiture, and Adventurer Sabbath. See the attached uniform guide for further direction.

If you have not received a CD of the Adventurer songs for this year please see
Music Director Darren about getting one.  It has the song that the Adventurers will be singing for Induction Sabbath, as well as the two songs that we will be performing during Adventurer Sabbath.

Azure Hills Adventurer club will be going to Pine Springs Ranch for a retreat, November 30 to December 2, 2012. We will have a sign up sheet for this event starting this Wednesday at the regular meeting.  See the attached

Happy Sabbath Adventurers

Just a reminder that Associated Director Darren will be practicing the Induction Sabbath song in the Primary I classroom following Sabbath school activities (around 11:15am).  We want all Adventurers who can to be there, to come and lift your voices to the Lord.  We will practice the song at the first meeting Wednesday, September 5 and Sabbath, September 8.

Induction will be Sabbath, September 22 during second service starting at 11:30am.

Hello Adventurer Families

This is the that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it!

This is also the day for Adventurer registration.  As many of you know, online registration is now available.  You will need to access the Azure Hills Church website.  Then select the Sports Ministries link.  If you have registered previously for basketball or other church events you may log in and follow the prompts for your child's class (Sunbeams, Builders, etc.).  If you have not done this previously, you will have to register as a new user.  These prompts can be found on the top right corner of the sports ministries page.  You will have the option to pay online with a credit card or to pay by check.  You can bring your check tonight or to the first meeting.

If you are coming this evening you can bring your lap top or tablet to register.  We will have a limited number of devices there if you do not have one.  Please be patient with us, as this will

be our first time registering Adventurers in this way.

Howdy All

The time for Adventurer registration is finally here!

The Azure Hills Adventurer Club is open to all girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 9.  We have one monthly meeting and generally one special activity each month.  We are active between September and May of the following year. Per the Southeastern California Conference Adventurer program directors, a child must be 4 years of age to join Adventurers.

Adventurer registration will be Tuesday, August 14 from 6:00pm until 7:30pm.

This years registration will feature our new on-line registration process.  We will be forwarding a link to this site next Monday. This means that if you prefer, you may register wherever you have access to a computer.  You will have the option to pay your fees online, at registration, or at the first monthly Adventurer meeting on Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30pm. 

Our Adventurer club fees are $45.00 this year.  This includes $32.50 for dues, $7.50 for SE.C.C. Liability Insurance premium and $5.00 for online registration.  If you intend to pay online, you will incur a small processing fee from the web hosting company. 

As you may already know, our club pays for the first three patches earned each year.  We ask that you pay for the remainder of the patches your Adventurer(s) earned last year.  Any honors not picked up last May, will be available the evening of registration.

Do not forget to bring in your gently worn uniforms and Adventurer t-shirts for donation or resale.

We have a really awesome Adventurer year planned out for our club members.  We hope that you all will come and be apart of it.  We ask for blessings on all of God's amazing children.

Happy Sabbath Adventurers and Adventurer Families!

First off I hope you all have had just the most amazing summer!  The up coming Adventurer year is coming together nicely.  We have lots of things to look forward to.  One of the first things is Induction Sabbath on September 22.

We have a great song to sing that day and hope that as many of you as can will learn it in the weeks leading up to Induction.  The song is titled: God, You're So Good To Me!

Associate Director Darren will be practicing the song on the following Sabbaths in Primary I class at Azure Hills Church:

August 4, 11, 25 and September 8.  He will have the CD and lyrics sheets for those who have not received one.  We ask that you take only on CD per family.  The lyrics will be emailed and posted to the blog in the up coming week.

Please look at and print the following campsite assignments.  We have had to do some rearranging to accomidate all campers, so please check.  Also when you get to the park, you will need to give the ranger the following information.  Camp site and reservation name (for example, I will tell them camp site #123 and the reservation name is Smith).  Please print a copy to bring with you or forward a copy to your smart phones so that you have this vital information when you arrive.

Greenspot Farms has been Cancelled

Hello Adventurers
We have been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for this Sunday.  Most all our sources predict rain for that day.  Therefore, we have decided to cancel the Greenspot Farms outing for Sunday March 25.  If you have paid, we will issue refunds at the next Adventurer meeting.
We know that many of you are disappointed and we share your feelings regarding this cancellation.
We know that all things are under God's control, not our own.  Let us always be thankful for His blessings, including the much needed rain for our area.
Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing each of you at the next Adventurer meeting, Wednesday April 4 at 6:30pm.

As many of you know, we have a club member named Derek Page who has spent a large portion of the last year in the hospital.  He continues to require chemotherapy treatments and is in fact at Loma Linda Children's Hospital today.  We are forwarding a message that was sent to us by Claudette Sanders regarding much needed meals for the family while they care for Derek at the hospital.  If you can serve in this regard, we urge you to contact her directly at the email address provided.  Please do not reply to sender as it will go to the entire group.

Hello All.

 

I want to share with you what Heather Page recently said in an e-mail to me:

 

"The meals are especially helpful when Derek is in the hospital, because with Vince at work, I am there all day every day and every second night with no way to prepare meals for the family. Everyone’s generosity with us has been such a huge blessing."

 

So, in case you're wondering whether or not providing meals is a worthwhile ministry, try imagining how you'd handle having to feed your family when your priorities needed to be focused elsewhere.

 

With that, comes the invitation and opportunity to serve this dear family once again with the gift of a meal during Derek's next hospital stay, scheduled for next week.  Dinnertime meals for 3 people are most appreciated.

Adventurer Greenspot Farms Activity Postponed

Hello Adventurers and Families,

The Adventurer activity at Greenspot Farms for this Sabbath, March 17 will be postponed due to inclement weather that has been forecast

In the March newsletter, we had stated that we would try attempt to reschedule this event for Sabbath March 24.  Due to possible conflicts with already scheduled practice for the Easter program that Sabbath, we have chosen to reschedule our Adventurer outing for Sunday, March 25 at 1:00pm.  If we are unable to schedule this day or weather prohibits us once again, this activity will have to be cancelled.

We will post a new message when we have confirmed that Sunday with Greenspot Farms.

February Monthly Meeting and El Capitan Sign Up

Good Evening Adventurers,

We hope you are all doing well.  January has flown by and February is nearly here.  Our Adventurer monthly meeting is this Wednesday, February 1st.  We will start promptly at 6:30pm.  Please remember to wear your light blue Adventurer T-shirts to this and all Adventurer functions.

We will begin sign ups for our EL CAPITAN camping trip which takes place April 27 - 29.  The cost will be $20 for children and $25 for adults camping for the weekend.  For those making the trip for only our Sabbath activities,we are asking 8$ for children and $10 for adults.  Please remember that these prices includes the campsite, meals and honors materials.

AzureHillsAdventurers : Post Message: Hello and Happy Sabbath Adventurers and Families

This is a last minute reminder that Adventurer game night is this evening, January 21.

We will start with sundown worship in the sanctuary at 5:00pm.

Dinner will be at around 5:30pm in the SMALL fellowship hall and in the the breezeway (where the fountain is).

Games will begin at 6:00pm in the LARGE fellowship hall, where Adventurers normally meet. We are asking that all of

you remain in the area we are dining until instructed to go into the LARGE hall.

We want to thank in advance Seth Perkins for his leadership in game night this evening.

So long 2011 and lets get going with 2012. Wednesday January 4 is our Adventurer monthly meeting. We will start promptly at 6:30pm so please be on time.
We are already half way through our Adventurer calender year and boy has it gone fast. Hope you are all ready for the fun and exciting events still to come.
